About the Yemen web market
Yemen is facing one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises, which has had a devastating effect on all aspects of the country's infrastructure including telecommunications. Internet penetration is among the lowest in the region, with widespread disruption to networks from conflict, power outages, and infrastructure damage. Despite these conditions, mobile internet continues to function in parts of the country, and the digital economy persists at a basic level.
The .ye ccTLD is technically managed by the Yemen government but practical administration has been significantly hampered by the ongoing civil conflict. International humanitarian and news organizations maintain .ye-adjacent digital infrastructure, while most commercial activity that does occur online relies on global domain extensions. Rebuilding Yemen's digital infrastructure will be a critical component of post-conflict recovery.
