Terms of use
The agreement between you and webatla when you buy or use any of our datasets. Plain words where we can; legal precision where we must.
Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, buying a dataset or downloading a free preview from webatla, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
If you accept these terms on behalf of a company, you confirm that you're authorised to bind that company. References to "you" then mean both you personally and that company.
About webatla
webatla provides structured datasets describing the publicly addressable internet — domain names, DNS records, RDAP/WHOIS records, technology fingerprints and ranking signals. The full catalogue is on the pricing page.

Account & access
3.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under your local law.
3.2 Account credentials
You're responsible for keeping your password secure. We recommend two-factor authentication (available in account settings). Notify us immediately at security@webatla.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
3.3 Team seats
Pro plans include up to 5 invited teammates. Each must use their own login. Sharing a login between people is a breach of these terms.
Datasets & licensing
4.1 What you buy
Each dataset is a one-time purchase that grants you access for a fixed window — either 1 month or 1 year from the date of purchase. There is no auto-renewal and we don't store your card unless you explicitly opt in.
4.2 Permitted uses
The datasets are provided for analytical purposes, and for the internal go-to-market analytics built on that analysis. Permitted uses include:
- Analysis of how domain infrastructure develops over time (registrars, DNS, RDAP and WHOIS registration metadata, TLD distribution)
- Analysis of websites and how they evolve, including ranking and popularity signals
- Technology analysis, such as measuring technology adoption and building technographic and firmographic profiles of domains and the organisations behind them
- Internal research, market sizing, lead research and ML model training within your organisation
- Defensive security analysis, such as studying registration patterns and infrastructure to protect your own systems, without any intrusive or offensive activity
- Publishing aggregated insights derived from the data (charts, reports, blog posts). Attribution to webatla is appreciated but not required
- Querying the data via your own tooling, dashboards or LLM pipelines
You may use the analysis to identify and prioritise organisations or domains by technographic or firmographic criteria. The datasets contain no contact information (see Nature of the data), so any outreach you decide to do must use contact details you obtain from your own lawful sources, must be targeted rather than unsolicited bulk or mass messaging, and must comply with all applicable marketing and data-protection law. You remain solely responsible for that outreach (see Your responsibility and indemnification). The prohibited uses in §4.3 apply in all cases.
4.3 Prohibited uses
You must not use the datasets, alone or combined with any other source, to:
- Resell, redistribute or sublicense the raw datasets, in whole or in substantial part, unless webatla has agreed to it in advance in writing (see §4.4)
- Build a service or product that competes with webatla using our data as the underlying source
- Send, or facilitate the sending of, unsolicited bulk or mass communications on any channel, including email, phone, SMS, fax, messaging apps and automated calling, in violation of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, the ePrivacy rules or any local anti-spam or marketing law
- Harvest, scrape, enrich or cross-reference the data to build or expand contact lists for unsolicited bulk outreach or spam
- Carry out cyber attacks or any malicious, intrusive or harmful activity, including unauthorised access, port or vulnerability scanning for exploitation, credential stuffing, denial-of-service, and the distribution of malware, phishing or fraud
- Target, profile, harass or discriminate against individuals, or the people or companies behind domains, in an unlawful or intrusive manner
- Attempt to derive personal contact data (such as an email address, phone number or the identity of a registrant) from the datasets, or attempt to re-identify any individual from data we have redacted
Redistribution or resale rights may be granted only under a separate written agreement with webatla (see §4.4). The remaining prohibited uses, including the bans on unsolicited bulk communications, cyber attacks, harassment and deriving personal contact data, are not negotiable and apply to every customer regardless of any custom terms.
4.4 If your use case isn't listed
Talk to sales@webatla.com. Custom redistribution rights can be negotiated.
Nature of the data (no personal contact information)
Our datasets describe infrastructure and technology. They record domains, DNS records, RDAP and WHOIS registration metadata, technology fingerprints, and ranking and popularity signals. They are not a contact database.
Our datasets are not designed to contain, and we take steps to exclude:
- Email addresses or phone numbers for domains or the sites hosted on them
- The identity or contact details of the person or entity that registered a domain (the registrant)
- The contact details of the company or people behind a website hosted on a domain
webatla provides no means of contacting domain owners and does not undertake to supply any such information. Where a field looks contact-adjacent, it is not a way to reach a person. The registrar field is the business of record that manages the domain, and any social-profile links are a site's own public web presence, not an individual's contact details.
RDAP and WHOIS content is limited to non-personal registration metadata, such as the registrar of record, creation, expiry and last-changed dates, the registry response status and the date last checked. We redact personal fields from raw registration records in line with ICANN's Temporary Specification and applicable law before delivery. If any personal field reaches you despite this, you must not use it and must notify us at privacy@webatla.com.
Your responsibility and indemnification
webatla provides the datasets for analytical purposes. You are solely responsible for how you use the data. You must use it only in ways permitted under §4.2, keep within the prohibited uses in §4.3, and comply with all applicable laws, including data-protection, anti-spam and electronic-marketing, computer-misuse and consumer-protection law.
webatla is not responsible for the uses you make of the data or for the consequences of those uses. Any outreach, processing, enrichment or combination with other sources that you carry out is your decision and your responsibility.
You agree to indemnify and hold webatla harmless from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, fine or penalty (including reasonable legal costs) arising out of or connected with your use or misuse of the data or your breach of these terms, except to the extent the claim arises from webatla's own breach of these terms or gross negligence. webatla will notify you of any such claim, allow you to control the defence with counsel of your choice, and reasonably cooperate. This obligation is in addition to, and does not limit, the disclaimers and liability cap in Data accuracy and disclaimers.
Pricing & payment
Prices are in euros (€) and shown net of VAT. We apply VAT according to the applicable EU rate to EU consumers and to EU businesses without a valid VAT ID. Verified EU B2B customers are reverse-charged. Non-EU customers pay net.
We accept credit and debit cards (Visa · Mastercard · Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay and SEPA direct debit. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.
Invoices are issued in euros and emailed to the address in billing settings. We can re-issue past invoices on written request to billing@webatla.com.
Refunds & final-sale policy
The datasets are digital products. All sales are final and non-refundable. The download link is delivered immediately on payment confirmation, which constitutes immediate fulfilment.
To protect you against buying the wrong thing, every dataset has a free 10,000-row preview with the exact schema, sample rows, country / TLD coverage and tech-detection patterns. You confirm at checkout that you've reviewed it. We strongly recommend doing so — once paid, the purchase cannot be reversed.
Material-defect exception. If the file we deliver is genuinely broken — wrong schema vs the schema doc, corrupted CSV, more than 5% of rows missing vs the advertised count — email support@webatla.com within 72 hours of purchase. We will either re-issue the file or, if we can't, refund in full. This is the only refund scenario we offer.
EU consumer right of withdrawal. Under Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to digital content where delivery starts immediately with the consumer's express consent. By checking the preview-reviewed box at checkout you give that consent and waive the withdrawal right.
Data accuracy & disclaimers
The datasets are provided "as is". We work hard on coverage and freshness — we publish a fresh export of every dataset daily — but the public internet is messy and our data will sometimes be incomplete, stale or wrong.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, webatla disclaims all warranties (express or implied) including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
This disclaimer covers the data itself. It does not cover how you use the data. Responsibility for your use, and your indemnification of webatla, is set out in Your responsibility and indemnification.
Intellectual property
The webatla database, software, brand and all derivatives belong to webatla. Buying a dataset gives you the licence described in §4 — it doesn't transfer ownership of the underlying database.
Your own data — analyses, charts, derived datasets you build on top of webatla — remain yours.
Termination
You can cancel your account at any time from account settings. Active dataset access continues until expiry; we don't refund unused time on cancellation.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms (especially §4.3), with written notice where reasonable.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the European Union, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
Consumers retain all mandatory rights under the law of their country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our service changes or to comply with law. If a change materially reduces your rights, we'll email you at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect counts as acceptance.
