About UserReport

A feedback widget that belongs to an audience measurement suite is not the same product as a feedback widget owned by a helpdesk company. UserReport comes from AudienceProject, and the difference shows up in what the widget is built to collect. Ratings, suggestions and an on-page loyalty score are gathered less to open support tickets than to assemble a describable picture of an audience, which is the raw material of audience research rather than of support work.

The kind of site that installs a tool like this usually has to prove who its visitors are to somebody else. Publishers sell advertising against demographics they need to evidence. Membership bodies report to boards. Public services justify budgets. Turning readers into a countable panel is worth paying for in those settings and close to pointless on a small brochure site, so the install base leans towards properties with an audience measurement problem rather than a product feedback problem.

As of October 2026 we detect UserReport on 41 sites. The product sits in our Feedback group, dates from 2010, is offered on a Freemium basis and ships as a JavaScript include that a crawler can read straight out of the page. Detection depends on that include being present on the page we fetch, and feedback widgets are often loaded only on article templates or only for a sampled share of visitors. Our count should be read as a floor rather than a census.

For a researcher the useful question is rarely whether one named site runs the widget, because a single lookup settles that in a moment. The exported list answers what a lookup cannot reach: how many properties in a given market carry the tag at all, which of them already belong to a rival feedback vendor and are therefore addressable, and how that population shifts between one snapshot and the next. Analytics and feedback tooling changes hands often enough that the churn is itself the signal, and churn is only visible if you hold the whole set twice.

Set alongside the rest of a site's measurement stack, a feedback tag also says something about maturity. A property that runs a survey instrument next to its general analytics has usually moved past counting page views and into questions about who the visitors actually are, which is a useful qualifier when the goal is a list of buyers for research, panel or audience products rather than a list of every site on the internet.

How do I download the list of websites using UserReport?

Three steps: (1) grab the free 10,000-row sample to inspect the schema, (2) buy the Technologies dataset, (3) download the full list of every domain we detect running UserReport as a JSON Lines file. It is re-exported daily, so you can re-download the freshest list any time inside your access window. Each row carries the domain plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, hosting country and rank.
