About Twenty Ten
Twenty Ten is the first official default WordPress theme to follow the naming convention of the release year, introduced with WordPress 3.0 in 2010. Developed by the WordPress core team, it established the template for subsequent default themes by featuring a simple, clean design suitable for both blogging and general websites.
The theme supports custom headers, custom backgrounds, multiple widget areas, and featured images. Twenty Ten is historically significant as the theme that shipped with WordPress when it gained its post-thumbnail and custom background APIs. Though older, it remains available in the WordPress theme repository and is installed on a large number of legacy WordPress sites.
