Priority Hints is a web performance standard implemented via the HTML `fetchpriority` attribute that allows developers to signal to the browser the relative importance of resource fetches such as images, scripts, and links. By marking resources as high or low priority, developers can guide the browser's network scheduler to load critical assets faster and defer less important ones.

Standardized by the W3C and supported in Chromium-based browsers and Safari, Priority Hints is particularly useful for optimizing Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) scores by boosting the fetch priority of above-the-fold hero images. It is increasingly used by performance-conscious development teams and is often deployed automatically by performance optimization tools and frameworks.
