Semantic UI is an open-source front-end component framework based on human-friendly HTML that uses natural language principles to make code more intuitive and readable. It provides a comprehensive set of UI components including buttons, forms, modals, tables, menus, and layouts built with CSS and jQuery.

First released in 2013 by Jack Lukic, Semantic UI became popular for its clean, readable class naming conventions and extensive theming capabilities. It is widely used in web applications, admin dashboards, and content sites. While the original project has seen reduced maintenance activity, a community fork called Fomantic UI continues active development. Semantic UI remains in production use across thousands of websites and applications built during its peak adoption years.
