Halo is an open-source blogging and content management platform built with Java and Spring Boot, widely used in China and among Chinese-speaking developer communities. It offers a clean administrative interface, theme marketplace, plugin system, and RESTful API, making it suitable for personal blogs and small-to-medium websites.

Halo supports Markdown editing, multi-user management, comment moderation, and attachment management with S3-compatible storage backends. Version 2.x introduced a redesigned plugin architecture and a Vue.js-based admin console. Halo is actively maintained on GitHub and distributed under the GPL v3 license, positioning itself as a self-hosted alternative to platforms like WordPress for technically inclined users in the Java ecosystem.
