About Geniee

Advertising code is one of the few things on a web page that exists purely to move money rather than to serve the visitor. Geniee sits in the Advertising group of our index, so a domain carrying it has decided to sell inventory rather than simply to publish. As of October 2026 we detect Geniee on 866 sites.

The product comes from Geniee Inc. and is distributed on a Proprietary basis, with the company trading since 2010. The vendor grew out of the Japanese publisher market and sells supply side and demand side tooling across Japan and the wider Asian region, which makes the tag a rough map of publishers who monetise through a regional exchange rather than a global one. Choosing a regional exchange is a commercial decision with a paper trail behind it. An integration normally means a contract, a revenue share and an account manager, so a list of domains carrying the tag reads closer to a customer roster than to a technology preference.

Detection is a read of the JavaScript loaded in the browser and of the request patterns that follow it, and the method has limits worth stating.
