About Zeotap

A customer data platform normally lives in a warehouse where no crawler can reach it, so when Zeotap appears in a page's markup, what is visible is the collection edge of the system and not the system itself. A tag firing in a browser means behavioural and identity signals are being gathered client side and joined to a profile held somewhere else, which makes presence a data flow question before it is a marketing tooling question. Privacy reviewers, regulators and competitors all read that fingerprint differently, and all three want the same list of domains.

Our catalogue files the vendor under Customer data platform, a label that undersells what is going on. Identity resolution is the interesting part. A platform that matches people across devices needs an identifier that survives the move from one device to the next, and how it obtains that identifier is precisely what a data protection reviewer will want to inspect on any site where the tag appears. Presence is the start of an enquiry rather than the answer to one.

As of October 2026 we detect Zeotap on 1 site, and the number should be read as a floor. Enterprise tags of this kind are usually loaded through a tag manager and gated behind a consent banner, so a crawler that does not click through to acceptance never sees the script fire. Undercounting here is not a flaw we can engineer away. Consent gating is doing exactly what it was built to do, and the population we can see is the part that loads before a visitor agrees to anything, plus the part on sites that never bothered to ask.

Zeotap has been operating since 2014 and ships the platform under a Proprietary licence, with the browser component written in JavaScript. The practical consequence for a researcher is that every detection stands for a paying enterprise relationship rather than a free library somebody dropped into a page. A single domain lookup will tell you whether a company you already suspected is a customer. A downloadable list will tell you how large the customer base looks from outside, which industries and countries it clusters in once joined to the rest of our columns, and which domains stopped carrying the tag between two exports, which is the closest thing to churn that anyone outside the vendor's own books can measure.

Frequently asked questions

How many websites use Zeotap?

webatla detects Zeotap on 1 website, refreshed daily, with its domain, DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.

Can I download the list of websites using Zeotap?

Yes, as structured JSONL. Grab a free sample first.

What's included for each site, and how fresh is it?

Domain, DNS, RDAP/WHOIS, the full technology stack, IP & country, PageRank and Harmonic, re-detected and re-exported daily.

How do I find the websites using Zeotap?

Buy the technology dataset, then download the complete list of domains we detect using Zeotap, re-exported every day.

What else is in the Zeotap technology data?

Each row places Zeotap next to the other technology on the same site, plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.

Can I download just the sites using Zeotap, or the whole database?

Both. Every site running Zeotap comes in the Technologies dataset, one downloadable file. Or buy All data for the entire database: technologies plus identity, ranking, DNS and RDAP/WHOIS for every domain, combined in one file. Daily fresh export.

How do I download the list of websites using Zeotap?

Three steps: (1) grab the free 10,000-row sample to inspect the schema, (2) buy the Technologies dataset, (3) download the full list of every domain we detect running Zeotap as a JSON Lines file. It is re-exported daily, so you can re-download the freshest list any time inside your access window. Each row carries the domain plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, hosting country and rank.
