About Letro
Letro is a decentralized, open-source communication protocol and application designed to provide secure, private messaging using end-to-end encryption. Built on the principle of user sovereignty, it aims to offer an alternative to centralized messaging platforms by enabling users to communicate without relying on a single corporate infrastructure.
Letro is based on the Awala network protocol, which was developed to route data through multiple operators to resist censorship and surveillance. The project targets privacy-conscious users and organizations in environments where communications may be monitored or restricted. As an open-source initiative, Letro is maintained by a small developer community and remains in active development.
