Some entries in a technology catalogue are best introduced with a warning, and JANet is one of them. The name is short, generic and shared by more than one unrelated product. The older description attached to our record talks about a networking framework built in Java, while the website recorded against the same entry sits on a Japanese domain and belongs to a commercial service. We are not going to pick one of those stories and present it confidently. What our record supports is that a fingerprint associated with the name matches on a set of sites, and that the catalogue files the entry under Affiliate programs because no narrower classification fits.

As of September 2026 we detect JANet on 229 sites. The figure counts fingerprint matches, not confirmed installations of a particular company's product, and where a name is ambiguous the matches should be treated as a starting point for investigation rather than as a finished answer.
