Animation is discretionary. A site can sell, inform and convert without any of it, so a page loading a dedicated animation library is a page where somebody decided motion was worth the bytes, the build time and the testing. GSAP is a JavaScript frameworks from GreenSock that has been in use since 2008, written in JavaScript and aimed at the part of the craft where timelines, easing and scroll-driven sequences matter more than a plain CSS transition can express.

The licence is recorded as Freemium, and freemium licensing is precisely where inference should stop. Presence on a page cannot separate a paid commercial licence from free use, cannot reveal which plugins are loaded from inside a bundle, and cannot say whether the animation is central to the site or a leftover in a theme somebody bought and never stripped. Anyone considering the list for licence enforcement rather than sales research should treat it as a starting point and nothing more than that.

There is a technical limit too, and it runs in one direction only. A copy served from a content delivery network or a public script path is straightforward to see. A copy compiled into an application bundle, renamed by minification and shipped as part of a framework build often is not, so the recorded sites lean toward those that included the library the simple way. The count is a floor, and the missing sites skew toward heavier engineering builds rather than being scattered at random. Even with that gap, the visible population answers something no per-domain lookup can, which is where across the whole web motion work is actually being commissioned and paid for.
