About Vignette
Vignette was an enterprise web content management system widely used in the late 1990s and 2000s by large corporations, media companies, and government agencies. Developed by Vignette Corporation, it offered tools for managing high-volume websites with complex content workflows, personalization, and multi-site publishing capabilities.
Vignette was considered a market leader in the enterprise CMS space during its peak and competed with products such as Documentum and Stellent. The company was acquired by Open Text Corporation in 2009, and the Vignette product line was gradually integrated into Open Text's content management portfolio. Legacy deployments of Vignette are still found on older enterprise and government websites.
