About Unbxd
Site search is the part of an online store that customers notice only when it fails, which is why replacing it tends to be a deliberate, budgeted decision rather than a default.
Unbxd sells that replacement. The service handles queries, faceting, ranking and merchandising rules for retail catalogues, so a search for a vague phrase returns products a shopper will actually buy and a merchandiser can push chosen items up the results. The product has been sold since 2012 on a Proprietary basis by the vendor we record as Netcore Unbxd, aimed at catalogues large enough that the search shipped with a commerce platform starts to cost real revenue.
Search platforms are awkward to fingerprint honestly. An integration can be a script in the page, in which case a crawler sees it, or it can be a server side call made by the merchant's own backend before the HTML is ever assembled, in which case nothing about the vendor reaches the browser at all. As of October 2026 we detect Unbxd on 1 site, and the count reaches only the first kind. Any serious estimate of the vendor's customer base is larger than what a crawl can prove, and saying so is more useful than dressing the figure up.
