About Medium
A detection of Medium on a company domain usually means the company stopped running its own blog. Rather than a content system on their own infrastructure, the publisher points a subdomain or a linked publication at a hosted service and writes there.
The Blogs label is technically right and practically misleading. Medium operates Proprietary software that nobody installs, so no row here is a deployment. A row marks a publishing relationship, and the platform has run on that model since 2012. As of October 2026 we see the arrangement on 171 domains.
Understanding what the arrangement costs the site owner is where the commercial interest lies. Content published on a hosted platform builds authority for the platform's domain rather than the company's own.
