A single embedded location suggests one premises, while multiple map instances or a store locator implies a chain, and the difference between those two is the difference between a small local sale and a regional account. Both are visible in the page rather than inferred from company registries that are frequently out of date.

United States accounts for 1,730,203 of detections and the .com zone leads, though for a signal tied to physical presence the country-code zones usually carry the more relevant distribution.

The practical query pairs the map with commercial signals: booking tooling, payment integration, a messaging widget, current analytics. Together these describe a physical business that transacts online, which is the target population for an entire category of software.

There is an important subtlety in how physical presence should be read from this signal. An embedded map indicates a location the business wants visitors to find, which is not the same as the location where it is registered or where its infrastructure runs. For local sales territories that distinction is decisive, and it makes the map one of the few signals on a site that speaks to physical geography at all.

That fills a genuine gap. Hosting country describes infrastructure, the domain zone describes a registration decision, and neither reliably indicates where a business actually operates. A map embed, and particularly a store locator with several entries, is closer to ground truth than either, which is why it is worth extracting rather than treating as decorative markup.
