Nginx (prononcé « engine-x ») est un serveur web, proxy inverse, équilibreur de charge et cache HTTP open source haute performance, créé à l’origine par Igor Sysoev et sorti pour la première fois en 2004. Conçu pour gérer une forte concurrence avec une faible consommation de mémoire, Nginx utilise une architecture asynchrone, pilotée par événements, qui surpasse les serveurs traditionnels basés sur les threads en cas de charge élevée.
