HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) est un mécanisme de politique de sécurité web qui impose aux navigateurs de n’interagir avec un site qu’en HTTPS, jamais en HTTP. Défini dans la RFC 6797, il se met en œuvre via un en-tête de réponse serveur qui indique aux clients d’imposer des connexions sécurisées pendant une durée donnée.

HSTS protège contre les attaques par rétrogradation de protocole et le détournement de cookies en garantissant que toute communication est chiffrée. Il est largement adopté par les sites soucieux de leur sécurité et constitue une recommandation clé des bonnes pratiques modernes de sécurité web, prise en charge par tous les principaux navigateurs.
