About VKUI
A component library exists so that separate applications built by different teams end up looking like one product. VKUI is the set of React components published by VK (VKontakte) for that purpose, and the reason to adopt it is not saved development time so much as continuity: an application built with it feels like a native part of the platform it sits in rather than a website borrowed from somewhere else.
Written in JavaScript and released under a MIT license in 2019, the library arrived once design systems had already become ordinary practice in front-end work, which shapes who reaches for it. A team does not choose a platform-specific component set for a generic marketing site. The choice gets made when a product has to live inside a host application, or when a company wants its public site to look continuous with the app its users already know.
The same constraint explains why a public-web count for this library reads low. As of October 2026 we detect it on 8 sites. Code written against a platform component set mostly runs inside that platform, in mini applications served from the host's own domains, and a crawl of ordinary registered domains never reaches them. Our number therefore describes the standalone web presence of teams working in that ecosystem rather than the size of the ecosystem, and the gap between those two measurements is wide.
No release string reaches us for the library, and no country or top-level domain concentration is recorded either, so the entry supports identification rather than trend analysis. Bundling is the reason. A component set compiled into an application bundle leaves traces in class names and markup instead of a labelled script with a version attached, so detection here is inferential in a way that a hosted script tag is not, and both false negatives and the occasional false positive are possible.
The people who want this list are looking for a population rather than an individual. Agencies and recruiters mapping which studios build for a given platform, security researchers who want every site shipping a particular front-end dependency, and vendors selling tooling into that developer community all need the domains together and at once.
