About Pace
Pace is a lightweight open-source JavaScript library that automatically displays a progress bar at the top of the page during page loads and AJAX requests. It requires no configuration — simply including the script causes it to monitor network activity and render an animated loading indicator, improving perceived performance and user experience on pages with slow-loading resources.
Pace supports multiple built-in themes and color options and is compatible with all modern browsers. It works by intercepting XMLHttpRequest and fetch calls as well as document ready events to determine loading progress. Due to its zero-configuration approach and small footprint, Pace has become widely used across various website types and CMS themes as a simple UX enhancement.
