Newspack is an open-source news publishing platform built on WordPress, designed to help small and medium-sized news organizations build sustainable digital news operations. It was developed with support from Google, the Knight Foundation, and other journalism funders as an initiative to support local news.
Newspack provides a curated set of plugins and themes optimized for news publishing workflows, reader revenue programs, and advertising. It includes integrations with Google Ad Manager, WooCommerce Subscriptions, Mailchimp, and Jetpack. The platform is maintained by Automattic and is available to qualifying news publishers, offering a managed hosting option as well as an open-source self-hosted version.
