À propos de Sapper
Les mainteneurs de Sapper sont ceux-là mêmes qui ont dit à tout le monde de cesser de l’utiliser. Construit par l’équipe Svelte comme le framework qui apportait aux projets Svelte le rendu serveur, le routage par fichiers et la découpe du code, Sapper a été supplanté par SvelteKit, devenu la manière officielle de bâtir ce type d’applications. Plus rien de neuf ne démarre dessus.
Un framework qui n’enregistre plus aucune nouvelle installation possède une propriété qui manque aux frameworks actifs. Chaque site qui le fait tourner a été bâti avant que le successeur n’existe, et chaque site qui le fait encore tourner a choisi, activement ou par négligence, de ne pas migrer. La population ne peut que diminuer, si bien que comparer la même liste à deux dates mesure directement un taux de migration, ce qu’aucun domaine pris isolément ne peut vous donner.

Les chercheurs s’intéressent au rythme lui-même, à la vitesse réelle à laquelle une communauté bouge quand ses mainteneurs désignent un successeur, ce qui est une question de population entière et ne peut pas trouver de réponse un domaine à la fois. Publié en 2017, Sapper sert aujourd’hui surtout de marqueur, indiquant quand une base de code a été écrite et depuis combien de temps elle est laissée de côté.
