Über .ye

Jemens länderspezifische Top-Level-Domain .ye dient als nationale Internet-Kennung für die Republik Jemen. Der Jemen liegt auf der Arabischen Halbinsel und ist seit Mitte der 2010er Jahre mit erheblichen politischen und humanitären Herausforderungen konfrontiert, die sich auf seine Internetinfrastruktur und digitale Entwicklung ausgewirkt haben. Trotz dieser Schwierigkeiten bietet die ccTLD .ye jemenitischen Unternehmen, staatlichen Stellen und Institutionen eine offizielle nationale Domain zum Aufbau einer Online-Präsenz.

Die Domain .ye wird von Yemen Net verwaltet, der nationalen Internet-Registry unter dem Ministerium für Telekommunikation und Informationstechnologie. Die Registrierung von .ye-Domains war historisch beschränkt und setzt eine lokale Präsenz oder Zugehörigkeit voraus.
