About VuFind
VuFind is an open-source library resource portal and discovery interface developed at Villanova University. It is designed to help libraries replace or supplement traditional catalog interfaces with a modern, search-engine-style discovery experience for books, articles, databases, and other library resources.
VuFind provides faceted search, relevance ranking, user account integration, and support for multiple metadata formats and library systems. It is widely adopted by academic and public libraries worldwide and is built on PHP using the Zend/Laminas framework with Apache Solr as its search backend. As an open-source project, VuFind benefits from contributions from a broad international community of library technology professionals.
