About VIVVO

A newsroom runs on deadlines, which is why publishing systems get replaced slowly and routinely outlive the marketing that sold them. VIVVO is a PHP content management system built for news sites specifically, with article workflow, editorial roles and document and media handling rather than the general purpose page building of the larger platforms, and it dates from 2005. Software of that generation arrived before hosted publishing platforms took over the segment, and a good deal of it is still quietly serving pages.

Detection for a publishing system is on firmer ground than for most other categories. A content management system leaves generator tags, predictable asset and template paths, admin routes and characteristic markup in the delivered page, so a match is usually solid rather than inferred from something circumstantial. As of October 2026 we record VIVVO on 1 site. The count is small, and for a niche proprietary product sold to publishers that is the expected shape rather than a sign of a detection problem.

A small installed base has consequences the reader should weigh. A proprietary CMS with few deployments leaves a limited pool of developers who know it, and the plug-in library and reseller programme the vendor advertises do not change that, which tends to leave sites running unchanged for years because changing anything is a project. Our record carries no version information for this platform, so the entry cannot tell you whether an installation is current or frozen. Anyone assessing exposure needs to check the individual site, and the list is a starting point for that work rather than a substitute for it.

Two audiences want exactly this set. Security researchers mapping unmaintained publishing stacks need the domains before they can look at anything else, and competing platform vendors and agencies want the same domains as migration candidates, because a publisher on ageing software is a publisher with a decision coming. Viewing source on one newspaper site answers one question. Only a list shows whether a legacy platform is shrinking, where its remaining users are and which markets kept it. Licensing is Proprietary, and our record names Spoonlabs while the product's own site carries the copyright of a company called Spoonlabs.
