USWDS (U.S. Web Design System) is an open-source design system created by the U.S. federal government to help agencies build accessible, mobile-friendly, and consistent digital services. It provides a library of UI components, design tokens, fonts, icons, and documentation that teams can use to create websites and applications that comply with federal web standards and accessibility requirements.

Maintained by the Technology Transformation Services within the General Services Administration, USWDS is used by hundreds of federal agency websites. It is built on a foundation of Section 508 accessibility compliance and is designed to work with multiple front-end frameworks. State and local governments and public sector contractors also adopt USWDS for government-facing digital products.
