About LimeChat
Objective-C does not run in a web browser, and our record names it as the implementation language here, which is the first sign that one name in this index covers more than one product. The metadata we hold describes an open source desktop chat client, released under GPL v2 and dating from 2006, while the website stored against the same entry belongs to a hosted business messaging service. A desktop application and an embeddable web service are not the same product, and only one of them can be what a crawler observed on a web page.
So the figure needs reading carefully. As of October 2026 the pattern matched 1 site, and the honest description of that number is a count of pages carrying a fingerprint associated with the name, not proof of which product those pages run. Our own category assignment, Live chat, leans toward the hosted messaging reading, since a web page can embed a support widget and cannot embed a native desktop client. Our category assignment is an inference, and we would rather label the guess as one than quietly present it as established.
Name collisions of this type are ordinary in technology fingerprint databases. Signatures and metadata accumulate from different sources over years, short brand names get reused across unrelated markets, and a description written for one product ends up attached to a record built from another product's traces. The defence is not a better description. The defence is publishing the underlying domains so the collision is visible to anyone who looks.
Which is where a downloadable extract does something a per domain lookup structurally cannot. A lookup tool would return the same conflated label for a single site, with no way for you to test it. An extract hands you the whole match set at once, and inspecting a handful of those pages resolves in minutes what the metadata cannot resolve at all, because a support widget and an IRC client leave completely different traces.
The practical advice for anyone researching this space is to treat this entry as a pointer rather than an answer. Take the domains, look at what is actually loading, decide which product you are looking at, then filter our wider dataset for the technology you really wanted. The value we are offering here is a verifiable starting set and a dated observation, not a confident identification we cannot support.
Frequently asked questions
How many websites use LimeChat?
webatla detects LimeChat on 1 website, refreshed daily, with its domain, DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.
Can I download the list of websites using LimeChat?
Yes, as structured JSONL. Grab a free sample first.
What's included for each site, and how fresh is it?
Domain, DNS, RDAP/WHOIS, the full technology stack, IP & country, PageRank and Harmonic, re-detected and re-exported daily.
How do I find the websites using LimeChat?
Buy the technology dataset, then download the complete list of domains we detect using LimeChat, re-exported every day.
What else is in the LimeChat technology data?
Each row places LimeChat next to the other technology on the same site, plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.
Can I download just the sites using LimeChat, or the whole database?
Both. Every site running LimeChat comes in the Technologies dataset, one downloadable file. Or buy All data for the entire database: technologies plus identity, ranking, DNS and RDAP/WHOIS for every domain, combined in one file. Daily fresh export.
How do I download the list of websites using LimeChat?
Three steps: (1) grab the free 10,000-row sample to inspect the schema, (2) buy the Technologies dataset, (3) download the full list of every domain we detect running LimeChat as a JSON Lines file. It is re-exported daily, so you can re-download the freshest list any time inside your access window. Each row carries the domain plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, hosting country and rank.
