It offers features including product catalog management, secure checkout, SEO tools, marketing integrations, and built-in payment processing through its own payment solution.

At its peak in the mid-2000s and early 2010s, Volusion was one of the leading hosted ecommerce platforms competing with Shopify, BigCommerce, and Magento. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2020 and was subsequently acquired, continuing to operate under new ownership. Volusion is still used by a segment of established small businesses, though its market share has declined significantly as competitors expanded their feature sets and ecosystem integrations.
