About Staytus

A status page is the one thing an engineering team builds hoping nobody has a reason to read it. When it finally matters, the rest of the estate is usually on fire, which is why teams that run their own tend to place it deliberately apart from everything else: another host, another provider, sometimes another registrar entirely. Staytus is software for that job, run by the organisation itself rather than subscribed to as a service.

The engineering decisions behind it are legible from our record. Staytus is written in Ruby, published under the MIT license, and its first release lands in 2015. A Ruby application under a permissive license is one a team can run, patch and fork without asking anyone for permission, which is the entire appeal for the sort of organisation that declines to put its incident communications on somebody else's platform in the first place.

Treat the 5 sites we record as of October 2026 as status endpoints rather than as corporate homepages, and assume the operator behind each one is larger than the domain alone suggests.

No vendor is recorded, and the absence is correct rather than missing, because Staytus comes from an open project rather than a company with a sales motion. Nobody could hand over the customer list, since no such list was ever created. Going and looking at the web is the only method available, which is what makes an extract worth more here than a lookup tool. One domain at a time tells you a single team's choice.
