Fork Awesome existe à cause d’un changement de licence et non d’un changement technique. Quand la bibliothèque d’icônes dont il descend s’est orientée vers un modèle commercial, une partie de la communauté a forké la version librement licenciée qui précédait et a continué à la maintenir.
