Über Yoast SEO Premium
Fast alles, was wir auf einer Website erkennen, lässt sich kostenlos installieren. Für Yoast SEO Premium gilt das nicht, und dieser Unterschied verändert, was eine Zeile in diesem Datensatz bedeutet.
Das Plugin ist die kostenpflichtige Stufe des Produkts Yoast SEO für WordPress. Der Anbieter Yoast BV verkauft es seit 2012 im Abonnement, und in unserem Lizenzfeld steht dafür GPL v3. Verlängert wird jährlich, Updates setzen einen aktiven Lizenzschlüssel voraus, und die zusätzlichen Funktionen sind genau die, nach denen ein Marketer im Arbeitsalltag fragt, sobald die kostenlose Edition nicht mehr ausreicht: mehrere Ziel-Keywords pro Seite, Vorschläge für interne Verlinkung, ein Weiterleitungsmanager und ausführlichere Vorschauen für soziale Netzwerke. Hinter einer Domain mit diesem Plugin stehen ein Marketingbudget, ein Betreiber, der gezielt Software gekauft hat, um in der Suche besser abzuschneiden, und ein Geschäft, in dem organischer Traffic als wichtig gilt.
Stand Oktober 2026 erkennen wir die Premium-Edition auf 132.983 Websites. 59.286 davon sind in den USA registriert, und ein großer Teil der Gesamtzahl entfällt auf die Endung .com. Da eine PHP-Laufzeit vorausgesetzt wird, ist jede erkannte Domain eine selbst gehostete WordPress-Installation und keine gehostete Seite, was den Bestand noch einmal auf Websites eingrenzt, die überhaupt kommerzielle Plugins aufnehmen können.
Gerade am Versionsfeld zeigt sich, was die Liste wert ist. Im gesamten Bestand unterscheiden wir 352 verschiedene Releases, und aktuelle Installationen häufen sich bei der Versionslinie 28.5. Weil Updates an ein aktives Abonnement gebunden sind, ist eine Website, die mehrere Releases zurückliegt, nicht einfach nur nachlässig. Ein veralteter Build ist ein plausibles Zeichen dafür, dass eine Lizenz ausgelaufen ist und niemand sie verlängert hat, und ein aktueller Build weist auf einen Kunden hin, der noch zahlt. Kaum etwas anderes auf einer öffentlichen Seite verrät überhaupt etwas über den Zustand eines Software-Abonnements.
Ein Vorbehalt wiegt hier schwerer als auf den meisten Seiten, weil die kostenlose und die kostenpflichtige Edition einen großen Teil ihres Fingerabdrucks teilen. Wir unterscheiden die beiden anhand von Markern, die der Premium-Build in der ausgelieferten Seite hinterlässt, und diese Unterscheidung ist erschlossen, nicht gesichert. Bei Websites, deren Ausgabe stark gefiltert wird, die von einem Plugin gecacht werden, das Generator-Kommentare entfernt, oder die über ein aggressives CDN ausgeliefert werden, kann die Unterscheidung ganz verloren gehen, und eine Website kann eine gültige Lizenz besitzen, ohne dass der Beleg je im HTML ankommt. Die Liste sollte man als Aufstellung der Websites lesen, auf denen Premium-Nutzung sichtbar ist, nicht als Kundenverzeichnis.
Wenn man das berücksichtigt, liegen die Einsatzmöglichkeiten auf der Hand. Konkurrierende Anbieter in der Kategorie SEO erhalten eine Gruppe von Unternehmen, die bereits bewiesen haben, dass sie für Suchsoftware bezahlen, und das ist eine weit bessere Zielgruppe als eine Liste von Websites, die bloß schlecht ranken. Agenturen finden Kunden, die die Disziplin ernst genug nehmen, um Werkzeuge dafür zu kaufen.
