O Varnish Cache é um acelerador HTTP open source de alto desempenho, concebido para armazenar em cache e servir conteúdo web a uma velocidade excecional. Originalmente desenvolvido por Poul-Henning Kamp e lançado em 2006, o Varnish situa-se à frente dos servidores web como um proxy reverso, armazenando cópias das respostas em memória para reduzir drasticamente a carga do backend e melhorar os tempos de carregamento das páginas.
