Varnish Cache è un acceleratore HTTP open source ad alte prestazioni, progettato per memorizzare in cache e servire contenuti web a velocità eccezionale. Sviluppato originariamente da Poul-Henning Kamp e rilasciato nel 2006, Varnish si colloca davanti ai server web come reverse proxy, conservando in memoria copie delle risposte per ridurre drasticamente il carico sul backend e migliorare i tempi di caricamento delle pagine.
