About Lexity

A tracking tag can outlive the company that issued it. Nobody removes a script when a vendor is acquired, because nothing visible breaks when the endpoint stops answering, and a line of markup left in a theme file keeps loading for years after the service behind it has been folded into something larger. Lexity is a case of exactly that, an Analytics and merchant marketing product from the early era of e-commerce app marketplaces that ended up inside Yahoo.

So a match here reads differently from a match on a live product. A store detected with the tag is not a customer of anything. What the match indicates is a template still carrying code from a service that was current around 2011, which in practice means the storefront has not been rebuilt, the theme has not been audited, and whoever assembled the marketing stack has long since moved on. A per domain lookup confirms one case at a time and says nothing about the shape of the population.
