When using the Public Interest Registry RDAP service, please consider the following: the RDAP service is not a replacement for standard EPP commands to the SRS service. RDAP is not considered authoritative for registered domain objects. The RDAP service may be scheduled for downtime during production or OT&E maintenance periods. Queries to the RDAP services are throttled. If too many queries are received from a single IP address within a specified time, the service will begin to reject further queries for a period of time to prevent disruption of RDAP service access. Abuse of the RDAP system through data mining is mitigated by detecting and limiting bulk query access from single sources. Should you wish to contact the registrant, please refer to the RDAP records available through the registrar URL listed above. About Dokeos
Training software is bought by human resources and compliance departments, and the buying pattern shows up in where the software ends up installed. Dokeos is recorded as a LMS from Dokeos SPRL, first released in 2004, written in PHP and licensed under GPL-2.0, and the combination points at a specific deployment style. A PHP application under an open source license installs on ordinary shared hosting, which is why platforms like this spread through consultancies and training providers rather than through enterprise procurement.
The deployment style then decides what a detection means. A domain where we see Dokeos is more likely to belong to an organization delivering courses to other people than to a company training its own staff, because internal training portals sit on internal networks and never meet a crawler. Public course catalogues, certification portals and vocational training sites are the visible half of that market, and the visible half is the part a technology dataset can describe.
Lineage matters too. A LMS from the early years of web-based e-learning carries design decisions from that era, including its own user management, its own reporting and its own assumptions about how a course is structured. Organizations still running one have either customized it heavily or have a workflow that predates the hosted alternatives, and either way they are not casual users. For anyone selling a replacement platform, the matched list is therefore a qualified set rather than a raw one, and the objections you will meet are about migration cost rather than about budget.
As of September 2026 our count for Dokeos stands at 1. Self-hosted PHP applications are inconsistently detectable, because administrators remove generator tags, rename directories, move the application to a subdomain and put login pages behind a portal, so the count is a floor and not a market estimate. We would rather say so than publish a number that sounds authoritative and is not.
One gap in the record deserves a mention, because it limits what the entry can be used for. We carry no version information for Dokeos, which means the data cannot separate a current installation from one that has been serving the same pages for years. For a platform whose main research value lies in identifying stale deployments, the absence of that column is a real constraint rather than a formality, and the matched domains have to be checked individually before anyone treats them as evidence of neglect.
Starting from a domain you already know, a lookup can confirm a stack. Starting from the technology, which is what the downloadable file allows, gives you every domain we have matched and lets you filter it against country, top-level domain and the other software running alongside, which is the shape that training market research actually needs.
Frequently asked questions
How many websites use Dokeos?
webatla detects Dokeos on 1 websites, refreshed daily, each with its domain, DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.
Can I download the list of websites using Dokeos?
Yes, as structured JSONL. Grab a free sample first.
What's included for each site, and how fresh is it?
Domain, DNS, RDAP/WHOIS, the full technology stack, IP & country, PageRank and Harmonic, re-detected and re-exported daily.
How do I find the websites using Dokeos?
Buy the technology dataset, then download the complete list of domains we detect using Dokeos, re-exported every day.
What else is in the Dokeos technology data?
Each row places Dokeos next to the other technology on the same site, plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.
Can I download just the sites using Dokeos, or the whole database?
Both. Every site running Dokeos comes in the Technologies dataset, one downloadable file. Or buy All data for the entire database: technologies plus identity, ranking, DNS and RDAP/WHOIS for every domain, combined in one file. Daily fresh export.
How do I download the list of websites using Dokeos?
Three steps: (1) grab the free 10,000-row sample to inspect the schema, (2) buy the Technologies dataset, (3) download the full list of every domain we detect running Dokeos as a JSON Lines file. It is re-exported daily, so you can re-download the freshest list any time inside your access window. Each row carries the domain plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, hosting country and rank.
