À propos de ShinyStat
La mesure d’audience européenne n’a pas commencé avec les outils qui occupent aujourd’hui toute la conversation, et ShinyStat en est la preuve. ShinyStat S.p.A. l’a lancé en 1997, et le produit se vend toujours sous licence Proprietary depuis l’Italie, où il s’est construit un public chez les éditeurs de presse et les marchands en ligne, les deux groupes que les pages de la société elle-même continuent de viser.
Cette histoire compte pour comprendre ce que le marqueur signale vraiment. ShinyStat se range dans la catégorie Analytics, mais le fournisseur le propose en édition gratuite à côté de formules payantes pour les entreprises et pour les fournisseurs de services, si bien qu’un script dans une page peut correspondre à un abonnement en cours comme à un badge posé sans frais et jamais retiré. L’entreprise a depuis associé son produit de mesure à de l’automatisation marketing sur le site et à une plateforme de données maison, ce qui décrit la trajectoire de l’activité plutôt que ce que fait une installation donnée. La détection suppose que le script de suivi ou le badge compteur visible soit présent dans la page que nous récupérons, si bien que les installations passées par un proxy, injectées via un gestionnaire de balises sous un domaine du site lui-même, ou cantonnées à des sections derrière une authentification nous échappent. Les sites qui ont gardé le compte de reporting mais retiré le badge public sont tout aussi difficiles à voir. Lisez le nombre comme un plancher de l’usage réel plutôt que comme un recensement, et considérez l’absence du marqueur sur un domaine comme une preuve plus faible que sa présence.
