Octopress est un framework de blogging construit sur Jekyll, le générateur de site statique, conçu pour faciliter la création et le déploiement de blogs depuis la ligne de commande. Créé à l’origine par Brandon Mathis vers 2009, Octopress ajoute une couche de conventions, de thèmes et d’outillage de déploiement par-dessus Jekyll, en ciblant les développeurs et rédacteurs techniques qui préfèrent écrire en Markdown.

Octopress génère des fichiers HTML statiques pouvant être hébergés sur GitHub Pages, Amazon S3 ou tout serveur web, ce qui donne des sites rapides et sécurisés sans dépendance à une base de données. Bien que le projet ne soit plus activement maintenu et que Jekyll lui-même ait considérablement évolué, Octopress a joué un rôle historique important en popularisant le blogging par site statique au sein de la communauté des développeurs.
