Akismet est un service de filtrage anti-spam largement utilisé, développé par Automattic, l’entreprise à l’origine de WordPress. Il vérifie automatiquement les commentaires, les soumissions de formulaires de contact et d’autres contenus générés par les utilisateurs par rapport à une base de données mondiale de schémas de spam afin de bloquer le contenu indésirable.

Akismet est inclus dans chaque installation WordPress et a filtré des centaines de milliards de soumissions de spam. Il utilise du machine learning entraîné sur des données provenant de millions de sites web pour améliorer sa précision au fil du temps. Bien qu’il soit gratuit pour un usage personnel, les sites commerciaux nécessitent un abonnement payant.
