Ahrefs Site Verification n’est pas un logiciel qui fait fonctionner un site web. Ahrefs Site Verification est une preuve de propriété, un court jeton placé dans l’en-tête d’une page ou dans un enregistrement DNS pour qu’une plateforme de référencement admette que la personne qui l’a ajouté contrôle bien le domaine. Le jeton n’a aucun effet sur un visiteur, et le retirer ne changerait rien à la page.

Sa présence dit donc quelque chose de plus ciblé, et de plus utile, que la plupart des détections. Quelqu’un disposant d’un accès en écriture au site a suivi jusqu’au bout un parcours d’inscription chez une plateforme de recherche commerciale, ce qui signifie que le domaine a été revendiqué, exploré, audité et surveillé par une personne attentive à son classement dans les résultats de recherche. Quelques limites comptent avant de prendre cette population pour un fichier clients. Les propriétaires laissent aussi la balise en place longtemps après l’audit qui l’avait motivée, ce qui joue dans l’autre sens et maintient dans les données des revendications dormantes. Ce que le marqueur établit de façon fiable, c’est que le domaine a été relié à une plateforme de recherche externe par quelqu’un disposant d’un accès en écriture au site.

Pour qui vend dans l’économie du marketing de recherche, l’intérêt est immédiat.
