Acerca de Mastodon

Alguien paga una factura de alojamiento por cada servidor de esta población, y alguien lo modera. Cada detección es una instancia que una persona o una organización decidió mantener en nombre de otras personas, lo que convierte la fila en una pieza de infraestructura más que en una página.

Mastodon es software de red social federada escrito en Ruby y publicado con licencia AGPL v3. La licencia es parte de la razón por la que la red conserva su forma. Un copyleft de red obliga a quien modifica el software y lo ofrece como servicio a publicar esas modificaciones, lo que hace que servidores operados de forma independiente sigan hablando el mismo protocolo en lugar de separarse en bifurcaciones privadas que ya no federan.

Mastodon está disponible desde 2016, y la población de servidores ha crecido a rachas ligadas a los problemas de las plataformas centralizadas a las que sustituye. Tres pasos: (1) consiga la muestra gratuita de 10.000 filas para examinar el esquema, (2) compre el dataset Technologies, (3) descargue la lista completa de todos los dominios en los que detectamos Mastodon, en forma de archivo JSON Lines. Se reexporta a diario, así que puede volver a descargar la lista más reciente en cualquier momento dentro de su periodo de acceso. Cada fila contiene el dominio junto con el DNS, el WHOIS, la IP, el país de alojamiento y la clasificación.
