Bouvet Island is an uninhabited Norwegian dependency located in the South Atlantic Ocean and is one of the most remote landmasses on Earth. As an entirely uninhabited territory with no permanent population, it has no internet infrastructure, digital economy, or domain market in any conventional sense.

The .bv ccTLD exists on paper as an IANA-delegated code but has never been operationally active or open for public registration. No registry operator manages .bv for public use, and effectively no domains are registered under this extension. It remains one of the few ccTLDs that exists solely as an administrative designation without any hosting or registration activity.
