About Sympa
Sympa is an open-source mailing list management software that enables organizations to manage large-scale email lists, discussion forums, and newsletters. First developed in 1995 at the French research institute RENATER, Sympa is a mature, feature-rich platform widely used in academic institutions, government agencies, and large organizations across Europe.
Sympa supports thousands of subscribers per list, advanced bounce management, subscriber self-service via a web interface, DKIM signing, and granular permission management. It provides robust tools for list owners and moderators, including archiving, digest modes, and integration with LDAP directories.
