When using the Public Interest Registry RDAP service, please consider the following: the RDAP service is not a replacement for standard EPP commands to the SRS service. RDAP is not considered authoritative for registered domain objects. The RDAP service may be scheduled for downtime during production or OT&E maintenance periods. Queries to the RDAP services are throttled. If too many queries are received from a single IP address within a specified time, the service will begin to reject further queries for a period of time to prevent disruption of RDAP service access. Abuse of the RDAP system through data mining is mitigated by detecting and limiting bulk query access from single sources. Should you wish to contact the registrant, please refer to the RDAP records available through the registrar URL listed above. About ELOG HTTP
An electronic logbook written for a particle physics laboratory is a strange thing to meet on the public internet, and that oddity is the whole interest of this row. ELOG HTTP is not a page framework or a marketing tag. ELOG HTTP is the identifying token a server sends about itself, produced by a logging daemon that carries its own built in web server rather than sitting behind a general purpose one.
Evidence from a server banner belongs to a different class than a pattern in page markup. Markup can be copied between sites, cached by a proxy or pasted into a template by somebody who never installed the underlying software. A banner comes from the running process, so a match tells you a specific program is listening on that host. For an inventory or exposure question, the distinction matters more than the count does.
The software behind the token is written in C, published under the GPL license and credited to Paul Scherrer Institute, with 2001 as the earliest year our record attaches to it. A research institute publishing a tool under those terms has no customer list, no license server and no telemetry, so nobody involved knows where the software ended up. A crawl is the only census such a project ever gets, and maintainers usually learn more from one than from their own download figures.
Presence implies something about the host rather than about a business. Logbook software of this kind records time stamped entries for shift handovers, instrument maintenance and experiment runs, which is work done by laboratories, control rooms, observatories, engineering departments and hospital physics teams. A matched domain is one where an internal record keeping tool is reachable from outside, deliberately or otherwise, and a finding like that deserves its own review from anyone doing attack surface work.
Version data sharpens the picture further. Our record shows a single build in circulation, 3.1.5-, and a long lived daemon written in a systems language and maintained by a small team tends to be updated on the schedule of whoever installed it rather than on the maintainer's. Knowing which build answers on a given host is the difference between an inventory line and an actionable one.
The undercount here runs in a familiar direction. Server tokens can be switched off in configuration, and a reverse proxy or a content delivery network in front of an instance will usually replace the banner with its own, so an instance behind modern infrastructure drops out of a survey like ours entirely. Plenty of instances also live on private networks that no crawler will ever reach. As of October 2026 we detect ELOG HTTP on 1 site, which is a floor on public exposure rather than a measurement of how many installations exist.
A downloadable list is the only practical way to work with a finding of this shape. Per-domain checks answer whether a host you already suspect runs the software, but the useful questions run the other way. Give me every host in the crawl answering with this banner, tell me which build each one reports, and show me what else those hosts serve.
Frequently asked questions
How many websites use ELOG HTTP?
webatla detects ELOG HTTP on 1 website, refreshed daily, with its domain, DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.
Can I download the list of websites using ELOG HTTP?
Yes, as structured JSONL. Grab a free sample first.
What's included for each site, and how fresh is it?
Domain, DNS, RDAP/WHOIS, the full technology stack, IP & country, PageRank and Harmonic, re-detected and re-exported daily.
How do I find the websites using ELOG HTTP?
Buy the technology dataset, then download the complete list of domains we detect using ELOG HTTP, re-exported every day.
What else is in the ELOG HTTP technology data?
Each row places ELOG HTTP next to the other technology on the same site, plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, country and ranking.
Can I download just the sites using ELOG HTTP, or the whole database?
Both. Every site running ELOG HTTP comes in the Technologies dataset, one downloadable file. Or buy All data for the entire database: technologies plus identity, ranking, DNS and RDAP/WHOIS for every domain, combined in one file. Daily fresh export.
How do I download the list of websites using ELOG HTTP?
Three steps: (1) grab the free 10,000-row sample to inspect the schema, (2) buy the Technologies dataset, (3) download the full list of every domain we detect running ELOG HTTP as a JSON Lines file. It is re-exported daily, so you can re-download the freshest list any time inside your access window. Each row carries the domain plus DNS, WHOIS, IP, hosting country and rank.
