A Cloudflare é uma empresa norte-americana de cloud de conectividade, fundada em 2009, que se posiciona à frente de um site como proxy inverso: o tráfego dos visitantes é encaminhado através da rede edge da Cloudflare, que abrange centros de dados em mais de 300 cidades em todo o mundo, antes de chegar ao servidor de origem. A partir dessa posição, a Cloudflare fornece uma rede de distribuição de conteúdo (CDN) com cache na edge, DNS autoritativo, mitigação de DDoS, uma firewall de aplicações web (WAF), terminação TLS e gestão de bots. A webatla mantém um índice continuamente atualizado dos sites que usam Cloudflare, construído inteiramente a partir de sinais em tempo real (registos DNS, cabeçalhos de resposta HTTP e assinaturas de IP/ASN associadas ao espaço de endereços da Cloudflare) e não a partir de etiquetas autodeclaradas, pelo que um domínio só é listado enquanto a evidência se mantém atual. Como o proxy edge oculta a verdadeira origem de um site, esta deteção constitui uma tarefa relevante por si só, e o índice é recalculado à medida que os domínios entram ou saem da rede. O dataset pode ser exportado como um ficheiro JSONL diário com um registo estruturado por domínio, e está disponível nesta página uma pré-visualização gratuita antes da exportação paga completa.
