Un sito può funzionare interamente su questa infrastruttura senza mostrarne il minimo segno, perché l’indirizzo che il visitatore risolve appartiene a un load balancer, a un nodo edge di una CDN o a un proxy che si colloca davanti all’istanza e risponde al suo posto.

Possiamo rilevare la popolazione che non si nasconde: nomi host che si risolvono negli intervalli di indirizzi pubblicati dal fornitore, nomi in stile istanza rimasti nel DNS e header che sopravvivono al viaggio fino al browser. A ottobre 2026 il totale è di 18.932 siti. Il conteggio va letto come una stima per difetto e non come una quota di mercato, e interpretarlo come la dimensione del business di calcolo di Amazon porterebbe a un errore di un’entità che non possiamo stimare onestamente.
