O software de fóruns dos primeiros anos da web comercial raramente é desativado. O XMB pertence claramente a essa geração de fóruns de mensagens alojados por conta própria.

Os nossos dados datam esta entrada de 2001 e indicam PHP como linguagem de implementação, com licença Open Source e sem qualquer fornecedor registado. A falha está nas nossas próprias colunas e não no software, porque o projeto ainda mantém um site próprio, gerido por uma empresa que publica os descarregamentos e a documentação e que mantém um fórum de apoio e um quadro de avisos de segurança a par dos seus outros serviços de alojamento.
