Про WordPress

Починаючи з певного масштабу програмний продукт перестає поводитися як продукт і починає поводитися як інфраструктура. WordPress перетнув цю межу дуже давно. Станом на жовтень 2026 р. ми фіксуємо його на такій кількості сайтів: 7 208 912. Наслідок такого масштабу в тому, що цікава економічна активність перемістилася з самої платформи на шар над нею.

На цій встановленій базі тримаються щонайменше чотири різні бізнеси. Хостери продають її як керовану послугу. Агенції будують на ній сайти. Постачальники плагінів і тем продають усередину неї. Компанії з безпеки та підтримки продають проти її типових збоїв. У кожного з них геть інше уявлення про те, який клієнт вважається хорошим, і жодному з них не допоможе список усіх сайтів, де стоїть платформа.

Саме в цьому практична проблема гучної цифри. Фільтр за самою лише наявністю повертає сукупність, завелику для будь-чого, крім пресрелізу. Запити, які справді дають роботу, вужчі й завжди складені з кількох умов: сайти, де платформа стоїть поруч із певним шаром електронної комерції, сайти за конкретним проксі, сайти однієї країни в одній доменній зоні, сайти з плагіном, для якого опубліковано попередження про вразливість, сайти, що з'явилися після попередньої збірки даних.

Кожен із таких запитів є фільтром по повній сукупності, а не зверненням до довідника. Різниця має комерційне значення, бо оплата за кожен запит тихо забороняє пошукову роботу. Коли кожне звуження коштує грошей, ви припиняєте звужувати зарано і задовольняєтеся гіршим списком.

Географія підпорядковується тій самій логіці. у США зосереджено 2 708 190 від загалу, а найбільшу частку несе зона .com, проте ані країна, ані доменна зона самі по собі не є вказівкою, кого таргетувати. Там, де версію встановити не вдалося, рядок так і повідомляє, замість нести здогадне значення.
