À propos de .shia

.shia est une nouvelle extension de domaine générique destinée aux communautés associées à l’islam chiite, l’une des deux principales branches de la religion musulmane. Les musulmans chiites représentent une part importante de la population musulmane mondiale, avec d’importantes communautés en Iran, en Irak, au Liban, au Pakistan et en Inde, entre autres pays. L’extension .shia a été introduite pour offrir un espace de noms en ligne dédié aux institutions religieuses chiites, aux organisations culturelles, aux établissements éducatifs et aux médias.

Cette extension est gérée pour servir les intérêts des communautés musulmanes chiites à travers le monde, en offrant une extension de domaine porteuse de sens et facilement reconnaissable pour les mosquées, les séminaires (hawzas), les organisations caritatives islamiques, les plateformes d’actualités et les ressources savantes. Elle illustre l’effort plus large de l’ICANN visant à offrir des espaces de domaine dédiés aux communautés religieuses et culturelles.
