Toda instalación de WordPress viene con un tema por defecto, y la mayoría de los sitios lo sustituyen en cuestión de días. Twenty Sixteen es lo que queda cuando eso no llega a pasar, o cuando alguien decidió que el diseño incluido bastaba y siguió adelante. En cualquiera de los dos casos, encontrarlo activo dice menos sobre el gusto en materia de diseño que sobre la atención que ha recibido el sitio desde que se montó.
El tema fue el predeterminado incluido durante un solo ciclo de publicación. Publicado en 2015 por WordPress.org con licencia GPL v2, y escrito en PHP como el resto del núcleo de WordPress, se construyó para la publicación centrada en el texto, con una barra lateral derecha opcional y una tipografía de mucho peso. Una parte de lo que detectamos estará dormida: copias de pruebas, dominios aparcados, sitios que dejaron de publicar hace mucho.
6349 de las detecciones están en Estados Unidos, y los dominios se agrupan en .com. Una distribución así sigue la adopción de WordPress en sí misma más que nada específico del tema. Blogs personales, pequeños negocios, clubes, colegios y entidades sin ánimo de lucro son la forma reconocible de esta población, y esa misma forma describe en general la propiedad de sitios con el presupuesto ajustado.
Para cualquiera que venda a esa población, la lista funciona como herramienta de cualificación.
