.ss Hakkında

Güney Sudan, 2011 yılında Sudan'dan bağımsızlığını kazanarak dünyanın en yeni ülkelerinden biri olmuştur. Ülke kurumlarını ve altyapısını inşa etmeye çalışırken, ülke kodu üst düzey alan adı olan .ss, Güney Sudan'ı küresel internette temsil etmek üzere IANA tarafından devredilmiştir. Kayıt otoritesi, Güney Sudan içindeki devlet kurumlarına, işletmelere ve kuruluşlara hizmet verir.

Güney Sudan'ın yakın zamanda bağımsızlığını kazanmış ve gelişim konusunda güçlüklerle karşı karşıya bir ülke olması nedeniyle .ss uzantısı, daha yerleşik ccTLD'lere kıyasla erken bir gelişim aşamasındadır. İnternet erişimi görece düşük kalmaya devam etse de mobil bağlantı artmaktadır. .ss alan adı, Güney Sudan'ın egemen dijital varlığını kurması ve ülkenin ekonomisi ile altyapısı gelişmeye devam ederken yerel dijital hizmetlerin büyümesini desteklemesi bakımından önemlidir.
